All nationalities visiting Ireland require valid passports. Visas are not currently required of EU nationals, EFTA nationals or nationals of the USA, Canada or Australia. Galway Airport
Aer Arann Express provides services to Galway Airport from Bristol, Cardiff, Cork, Dublin, Edinburgh, Manchester, Leeds Bradford, London Luton, Lorient and Newcastle. Please visit their website for flight details, terms and conditions and reservations.

Dublin Airport Transfer Options to Galway

    Bus Services:
  • Bus Eireann, our national bus transport service operate buses from Bus Aras (Central Bus Station) in Dublin City Centre to Galway on a regular basis. The Route number you require is 20. The website is www.buseireann.ie/site/airport_services/dublin.asp and the return fare is around 20 Euro. If you wish to use this service you will need to use the Airlink Coach from the airport to connect with the service from Bus Aras. Tickets for the Airlink service can be purchased on the bus (10 Euro single fare), and tickets for the journey to Galway can be purchased either online or from the ticket desks in Bus Aras.
  • CityLink, a private coach operator also operates from Dublin Airport on a regular basis. Their website is www.citylink.ie and the return fare is 35 Euro from Dublin Airport.
  • Bus Nestor, another private coach operator also provide a direct service from Dublin Airport to Galway. Their website is www.galway.net/pages/nestorbus/
    Train Services:
  • Irish Rail, operates the train service on the Galway to Dublin route, departing from Heuston Station.  You will need to use the Airlink Coach to get from the Airport to Heuston Station, or if you are already in Dublin city center, use the red Luas line (light rail system) to Heuston station There are about 7 services per day between Dublin and Galway, and the return ticket will cost about 45 Euro.

Shannon Airport

Shannon Airport is located 90 kms/55 miles from Galway city. It is serviced by numerous airlines with scheduled flights. To check timetables and routes, please go to www.shannonairport.com

Shannon Airport Transfer Options to Galway

    Bus Services:
  • Bus Eireann, our national bus transport service operate a bus service from Shannon Airport to Galway on a regular basis. The Route number you require is 51 and the website is www.buseireann.ie/site/airport_services/dublin.asp and the return fare is around 16 Euro.
    Tickets for the journey to Galway can be purchased either online or from the bus driver.
  • CityLink, a private coach operator also operates from Shannon Airport on a regular basis. Their website is www.citylink.ie and the return fare is 23 Euro from Shannon Airport.


Knock Airport
